In this hands-on workshop, music teachers will learn how to design and deliver engaging kindergarten music lessons that build real choral readiness—step by step. Mrs Eleanor Wright, an experienced conductor of Barnsley Youth Choir and the developer of music curriculum for young children, will guide participants through a practical “planning-to-performance” approach that works in everyday classrooms.

Teachers will explore how to choose and create age-appropriate songs, set clear but child-friendly learning goals, and structure lessons for steady beat, listening skills, pitch confidence, and group singing. Participants will also learn rehearsal strategies that move beyond “practice and hope” to focused, confidence-building run-throughs, including quick staging ideas suitable for kindergarteners. Leave with ready-to-use lesson structures, planning prompts, and execution tips you can apply immediately in the classroom.
