The Hong Kong Inter-School Choral Festival 2018

In 2018, HKVC launched a new initiative – The Hong Kong Inter-School Choral Festival (“HKICF”). This new initiative aims to be an engaging music education platform, where students and teachers can grow artistically through mutual exchange and appreciation.

Unlike conventional choral competitions, HKICF is held in the form of a masterclass where choirs can receive instant feedback and guidance from the adjudicators. They are also not ranked against one another, but instead, given different levels of awards based on their performance.

HKICF is also complemented by other unique features, such as: workshops for music teachers and conductors as well as choir clinics that provide in-school tailor-made choral training.

In its 1st year, HKICF has already seen over 200 teachers attend our workshops. More than 1,000 primary and secondary school students from over 20 choirs participated in our competition cum masterclass.
