Ms. Joyce Cheung is a jazz pianist, performer, arranger and composer based in Hong Kong. She maintains an active presence in Hong Kong’s jazz and pop music scene, and has had the pleasure of sharing her music with live audiences across the world. She received an early classical musical training in both piano and cello, obtaining diplomas from ABRSM and Trinity College at a young age. She spent her early years studying piano performance and electronic composition at The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, during which she performed with the world class pianist Lang Lang in Time Square in Hong Kong.

In her formative years at the Berklee College of Music, Ms. Cheung graduated with first honours in Film Scoring as well as Contemporary Writing and Production in 2014 and obtained her Master’s degree in Contemporary Performance in 2017. During her time there, she received the Robert Share Award, Berklee Music Preparation Award and the Berklee Piano Department Scholarship.

A veteran in the Jazz scene, Ms. Cheung’s performances in 2022 included Ms. Cheung & the Latin Experience, where Ms. Cheung and her 11-piece band showcased Latin arrangements of popular tunes. In 2023, Ms. Cheung was invited to feature on piano for British Soul Jazz vocalist Poppy Ajudha at Tokyo Blue Note.

In 2020 and 2022, Ms. Cheung released instrumental albums, ‘Set Loose’ and “Jazzical Collection”, respectively to connect to the international audience.

Ms. Cheung is also a frequent collaborator with Hong Kong musicians, including Hacken Lee, Joey Yung, Terence Lam, Yoyo Sham and the popular dance-pop group Mirror.
