Join Mr. Daniel Knauft for an insightful workshop on the anatomy and physiology of the vocal tract, focusing on the significant changes that occur from puberty onset to young adulthood. Designed for music educators, choir directors, teachers, and anyone interested in vocal development, this session will provide both theoretical knowledge and practical tips on how to effectively warm up the budding adult voice. Participants will explore basic anatomy, breath control techniques, and practical exercises to support and enhance the young singing voice through this transitional phase. Additionally, a demo choir will be present to demonstrate techniques and provide hands-on learning experiences.

Mr. Knauft is the co-founder and first bass of the acclaimed German vocal ensemble “amarcord,” which has performed over 2,000 concerts worldwide and recorded twenty CDs since 1992. He co-initiated the Festival of Vocal Music “a cappella” in Leipzig and is a respected adjudicator and workshop presenter. Starting in the 2023/2024 academic year, Daniel and his amarcord colleagues began lecturing on ensemble singing at the Leipzig Conservatory of Music. A former member of the St. Thomas Boys Choir, Daniel combines his musical career with a background in medicine and research on the adolescent singing voice.
