Ms. Cheuk Yee Wong graduated from the notable American vocal studies conservatory Westminster Choir College with a master’s degree in Voice Pedagogy & Performance with distinction. Previously, she had been awarded a B.A. in Music, and a B.A. in English Language & Literature with an Education Diploma from Hong Kong Baptist University. In 2021, she also received her Higher Education Teaching Certificate from Harvard University’s Derek Bok Center for Teaching and Learning (USA). During her time in the United States, Ms. Wong’s voice or opera research findings were presented at her school and in the regional National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) conference. She was the winner of the Students Audition (Eastern Region) held by the NATS.
Ms. Wong is now an adjunct lecturer of HKBU Music Academy, President of the Hong Kong Chapter of NATS, and the founder of Cherir Voice Studio. Though classically trained, Ms. Wong has expanded her expertise into musical theatre and pop vocals. She possesses ARSM in Musical Theatre and grade 8 certificates in pop vocals. Ms. Wong was invited to serve as an Artistic Advisor of the Hong Kong Inter-School Choral Festival after adjudicating it in 2018. In recent years, she has been invited to serve as instructor and mentor in the Festival’s School Choir Incubator Programme, where she shares her expertise in vocal pedagogy with Hong Kong school music teachers.
