Speaking of choral conducting techniques, it’s the perfect moment to look back at our HKICF2026 Workshop for Music Teachers / Conductors (2): “Foundational Choral Conducting Techniques,” led by the distinguished Taiwanese choral conductor Dr. Chia-Fen Weng. In this workshop, Dr. Weng provided hands-on guidance, demonstrating how to use body language, facial expressions, and gestures to confidently and effectively lead a choral performance. Participants learned—or refreshed their knowledge of—several essential conducting techniques, including basic beat patterns, left and right hand coordination, and how to cue entrances, cut-offs, and dynamic changes. It was such a rewarding experience for everyone involved.
