11 February at Tsuen Wan Town Hall, we were honored to have the renowned Lyn Williams lead the final session of our HKICF2026 Workshop for Music Teachers / Conductors (11): “Down Under Choral Discoveries”!
Lyn introduced many of these vibrant Australian pieces in the event, and led participants to listen and sing a wide range of works, from simple songs for young children to sophisticated and complex pieces for high-level children’s choirs. Beyond the repertoire, Lyn also inspired the participants with her teaching philosophy. The workshop also touched on the unique nature of the Indigenous choirs and the deep connection between their people, culture, and the land, featured the unique Australian approach to children’s choirs.
As this session concludes, HKICF2026 Workshop Series for Music Teachers and Conductors has officially come to an end. We would like to express our deepest gratitude to all the international and local guest speakers who have joined us. Your insights have provided invaluable inspiration to Hong Kong’s music education community. To all the music educators who participated, thank you for your passion and dedication to the art of choral music!
