A sought-after choral conductor, pedagogue and music educator, Alice Chung joined St. Paul’s Co-educational College Primary School (SPCCPS) in 1993 and had served for many years as the Panel Chairperson of the Music Department. As a choir conductor, Alice makes it a top priority to guide children in their discovery of joy and pleasure in choral singing and has planted that very seed in many a generation over these years. Choirs under her guidance have garnered top prizes and awards at the Hong Kong Schools Music Festivals, including the Most Outstanding Primary Choir of the Year on multiple occasions. She has led SPCCPS choirs to international exposure and achieved multiple significant awards including Gold Medal in the 7th World Choir Games in 2012 held in Cincinnati, USA; Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod in 2015 (Britain); and first place with outstanding success in Summa Cum Laude International Youth Music Festival Vienna in 2017.
Alice is the co-author of the popular music textbook series, Longman Music, and had served on the Committee of the Hong Kong Schools Music Festival for many years. Alice graduated with qualifications in music and music education from Hong Kong Baptist University, Kingston University and the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
