Ernest Hui

Composer & Arranger in Residence of the Paul Phoenix Academy

Mr. Ernest Hui is an avid singer, composer-arranger and conductor, specialising in choral and contemporary a cappella music. Hui has instructed at numerous schools and institutes, notably: Macao Cultural Centre Children’s Choir (music director and conductor), Ying Wa College (vocal coach and choir conductor), The Hong Kong Children’s Choir (choir conductor), and Vocal Asia (a cappella coach). He has worked with the Yat Po Singers as an assistant choral director for a cappella-theatre productions “Rock Hard” (2017 re-run), “Requiem HK” (2018 re-run) and “This Victoria Has No Secrets” (2018 premiere).

Mr. Hui read music at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, where he completed his Master of Music (Composition) as a scholarship awardee. He publishes his own music, which received awards and critical acclaim, and has been keenly performed not only locally, but also in Canada, China, Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Taiwan and the United Kingdom. Ernest Hui is now the Composer and Arranger in Residence at the Paul Phoenix Academy.
