St. Paul’s Co-educational College Senior Mixed Voice Choir

Founded in 1949, the Senior Mixed Voice Choir stands as one of the oldest school teams in the history of St. Paul’s Co-educational College and has been the flagship musical group for over six decades.

Aside from the many accolades in the annual Hong Kong Schools Music Festival, the Choir has appeared in many prominent public performances, from the Olympic Torch Ceremony in 1964 to several public farewell ceremonies for former governors, and from the opening of the inaugural Hong Kong Arts Festival in 1973 to the flag-raising ceremonies on National Day and Handover anniversaries.

The acclaimed performing tour to Bangkok, Thailand in 1979 marked the beginning of the choir’s success overseas. Its artistry has since taken the choristers to concert stages of all sizes from Australia to Germany, from China to United States, and from Austria to Latvia, appearing in festivals and prominent occasions such as the World Choir Games, Europa Cantat and Yale School of Music Norfolk Chamber Music Festival. The Choir has also benefited from its collaboration with groups such as the Harvard Glee Club, Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra and Hong Kong Sinfonietta.

The Senior Mixed Voice Choir has been under the tutelage and direction of Mr Apollo Wong since 2015.
