Little Skylark Children’s Choir

The Little Skylark Children’s Choir was named one of the “Top Ten Excellent Children’s Choirs in China” in 2003. It was designated as the “Guangzhou Exemplary Base for Children’s Choral Music” in 2014 and recognized as a “High-Level Student Aesthetic Education Team in Guangzhou Primary and Secondary Schools” in 2020. The choir has won over 40 major awards in international and domestic choral competitions, including 2 international grand prizes and 10 international championship titles in specific categories. Notably, in 2024, they achieved champion of 2 categories at the 13th World Choir Games in New Zealand.

The choir has collaborated with renowned professionals such as the China National Opera & Dance Drama Theater, the Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra, the Shanghai Opera House, and the Orchestra del Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, performing works including “Mahler’s Symphonies”, “Tosca”, “Turandot”, “Carmina Burana”, “神話中國”, and “我們的孫中山”. They have also performed at significant events including the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games, the welcome gala for the Fortune Global Forum in Guangzhou, the award ceremony for the 4th Guangzhou International Award for Urban Innovation and the Global Mayors’ Forum, and the closing ceremony of the Understanding China Conference in Guangzhou.

The choir has released four albums titled “Voice of the Skylark” and has held 20 “Little Skylark Night” dedicated concerts at the Xinghai Concert Hall. They were also invited to perform 10 concerts as part of the Ersha Island Outdoor Concert Season, co-organized by the People’s Government of Yuexiu District, the Department of Culture and Tourism of Guangdong Province, and the Xinghai Performance Group. The choir has toured extensively, performing and holding dedicated concerts in countries including the United States, France, Spain, Germany, Italy, Latvia, Indonesia, Singapore, and New Zealand, as well as in 13 different regions within China.
