Florence Cheng is a multifaceted musician and concert curator with a strong foundation in both performance and music education. She obtained her Master of Music in Choral Conducting from San Francisco State University (SFSU) on scholarship, and received vocal training at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. As an educator, Florence is particularly passionate about early childhood music education—a field she entered while teaching at a Montessori school in California. She later directed a music playgroup project for young children in Hong Kong. As a choral educator, she has led a wide range of ensembles, including the Opera Hong Kong Children’s Chorus, the Hong Kong Children’s Choir, as well as various community, school, and church choirs.
From 2014 to 2019, Florence curated interdisciplinary performances for Le French May arts festival in Hong Kong, highlighting her commitment to creative musical presentation. Her choral production was broadcasted internationally on Mezzo.tv in 2018.
Florence remains active as a conductor and vocalist, performing a broad repertoire across classical and contemporary genres. She also regularly leads choral workshops and clinics in Hong Kong and Singapore. She is currently the choir director at Pegasus Community Choir in London.
