Mr. Danny Wu

Conductor of The Mad Singers

Born in Hong Kong, Danny Wu is a young choral conductor and singer who has performed both locally and internationally. Wu began his choral training with the Hong Kong Children’s Choir and later received vocal instruction from baritone singer Caleb Woo. At the age of 17, he was awarded the Ms. Barbara Fei Vocal Solo Prize (Open) for Male Voice at the 71st Hong Kong Schools Music Festival. Wu is the former chairperson of the Diocesan Boys’ School Choir, which captured multiple championships at the World Choir Games 2018 in Tshwane, South Africa. 

Wu is the co-founder and conductor of The Mad Singers, a youth chamber choir from Hong Kong that has rapidly gained reputation and recognition both locally and globally in recent years. Under his direction, The Mad Singers have received numerous awards in international choral competitions, including the International Choir Competition “Prof. Georgi Dimitrov,” Taipei International Choral Competition, Penabur International Choir Festival, World Choir Festival, Leonardo Da Vinci International Choral Festival, and JSFest Competition. He was also honoured with the “Special Award for Young Conductors with the Brightest Stage Presence” at the 42nd International Choir Competition “Prof. Georgi Dimitrov” in Varna, Bulgaria.
