Caleb Woo

Lyric baritone Caleb Woo has performed many Bach vocal works and has appeared in BachFest Malaysia and Thüringer Bachwochen. The performances of Oratorio brought him to collaborate with the conducting masters, including Christopher Seaman, Helmuth Rilling, and Paul Goodwin.

Caleb also participates in numerous opera productions. Recently he participated in the productions of Por Por and Women Like Us, the award-winning opera Angel’s Bone produced by the New Vision Arts Festival and the Beijing Music Festival; original operas composed by Chan Hin-yan: Kungfood, Datong and Heart of Coral. He also participated in productions by Opera Hong Kong, City Opera Hong Kong, Musica Viva, Pop up Production, putting up La traviata, Orphee aux enfers and La Bohéme, to name a few. Caleb also participates in Opera productions, recently he participated in musical theatre work The Book of Longings by Philip Glass and Leonard Cohen, as well as soloing in BachFest Leipzig.

Caleb graduated with a Master’s Degree of Music in Voice Performance and Literature at Eastman School of Music. He holds degrees from Hong Kong Baptist University including a Bachelor of Arts degree in Voice Performance and Pedagogy with first class honour; Master of Arts degree in Christian Studies from The Chinese University of Hong Kong; as well as an ATCL diploma and a LRSM diploma. His voice teachers include Sanson Lau, Jimmy Chan and Professor Robert McIver.

He is now teaching at a number of universities in Hong Kong as well as serving as the Music Director of Tuen Mun Alliance Church and conductor of HKU Chamber Singers. He has been elected a Member of National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) and President of its Hong Kong Chapter.
