A native of Hong Kong, Mr. Apollo Wong is a conductor and operatic bass. He has sung numerous operatic and musical roles. In 2019, Mr. Wong won first place at the Hong Kong Choral Conducting Competition and the Asia Pacific Youth Choir Award.
Recognized as an inspiring choral and orchestral builder, he is currently the Chorus Master of Hong Kong Philharmonic Chorus, Music Director of The Learners Chorus and The Learners Orchestra, conductor of Hong Kong Children’s Choir and St. Paul’s Co-educational College senior choir.
Being an active conductor and educator, Mr. Wong has been the chorus master for conductors such as David Atherton, Lorin Maazel, Helmuth Rilling, Tan Dun and Jaap van Zweden. Wong has notably both sung the bass solos and conducted Mozart “Don Giovanni”, Giacomo Puccini “La Boheme”, “Gianni Schicchi”, “Turandot” and Verdi’s Aida.
