Mr. Mervyn Cousins and Ms. Zoë Booth, Chief Examiners of ABRSM, will lead an interactive session focused on effective reflection and evaluation tools for choral directors and educators. This workshop will delve into strategies for enhancing our practices, benefiting our students, choir members, and our own development as musicians.
While choir rehearsal schedules prioritize the progress of singers, this session will explore how to successfully integrate our professional growth into our work. Participants will engage in practical activities that foster self-observation and active listening, as well as methods for receiving and utilizing feedback from peers and choir members.
The workshop will highlight the importance of establishing clear objectives for reflection, providing attendees with the opportunity to discuss strategic planning and goal-setting. Additionally, Mr. Cousins and Ms. Booth will introduce ABRSM’s new resources and qualifications designed to support teachers and choir directors in their professional journeys.
