Volunteers’ Sharing
Moon Kong
The Education University of Hong Kong graduate, former festival volunteer and intern, currently a festival staff and Assistant Conductor of the Hong Kong Inter School Choir.
What I remember most is being able to participate in the competition and master class. During the event, I witnessed the positive impact it had on choir students, which encouraged me to continue pursuing my goal of touching people’s hearts through music. HKICF provided a vibrant environment dedicated to fostering young people’s love for choral music. I am delighted to have been a part of it, working together to create a new choral music experience and culture.
Chole Ng
The Education University of Hong Kong graduate, former festival volunteer and intern, currently a full-time music teacher.
Participating in HKICF volunteer service gave me the opportunity to understand the details of event management, including reception, stage management, and assisting with technical needs. HKICF brought together participants from different schools, backgrounds, and cultures. In this multicultural environment, I was able to encounter various musical styles and traditions, witness the talents of students and teachers from different schools, and spark my own inspiration and motivation.
Bronson Lau
Festival volunteer, former member of the HKISC, currently a student in the Department of Cultural and Creative Arts at the Education University of Hong Kong.
As a former member of HKISC, Bronson’s involvement with HKICF did not stop in his DSE year. He helped as a volunteer. “It’s a fun experience witnessing the 2nd HKISC’s performance as organiser. It is when you once again experience the initial touching moment that drives you to devote yourself to music.” These front-row-seat opportunities inspired Bronson’s passion to be a music teacher. “I do hope to join the teachers’ choir soon!” Now, as a freshman in EdUHK Music Department, his new journey has just begun.
