Agatha Tsui

Conductor of HKU SPACE Community Choir

Agatha Tsui is one of the versatile locally trained musicians in Hong Kong. She is particularly a pianist, vocalist, music educator and conductor. Upon completion of the Teachers Certificate course at the Grantham College of Education, she furthered her studies in music at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), where she obtained her BA Music and Ma Music with honours.

During her studies in CUHK she majored in piano performance under the tutelage of Ms Teresita Botelho, Ms Nancy Loo and Professor David Gwilt., obtaining her LTCL and LRSM.

Besides piano performance, Agatha also took vocal lessons from Ms Fu Gui Hua and Ms Rao Lan and conducting lessons from Mr Liu Shiao Yang and Mr Patrick Chiu.

Agatha began her professional teaching career as a music teacher and choral conducting in Diocesan Girls’ Junior School, Diocesan Girls’ School and St. Stephen’s Girls’ College leading their school choirs winning a lot of prizes in the Hong Kong Schools’ Music Festival.

She was employed later on by the HKU SPACE Community College as the choir conductor and was appointed as the Lecturer and Music Director for the HKU SPACE Community Choir organizing musicals for the College events.

Agatha is currently focusing on her private piano and vocal teaching and conducting at her church choir.
