Raymond Fu

Chairman of The Opera Society of Hong Kong

Mr. Raymond Fu studied at Grantham College of Education, Stirling University and The Royal School of Church Music (UK). He was for various periods conductor of many choirs such as the Hong Kong Philharmonic Chorus, the Academy for Performing Arts Choir and the Hong Kong Chorus. Over the years, he has been actively involved in more than 38 operas and musical productions. 

Mr. Fu was the music head of his alma mater, St. Paul’s College, for 32 years. He is at present the conductor of the Diocesan Choir of Hong Kong Island, Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui,  Choirmaster Emeritus of St John’s Cathedral and Assessor to the Hong Kong Arts Development Council. He is also a council member and Jury of the “World Choir Games”, the biggest choral festival in the world, and has served among the international jury panel in China, USA, Vietnam and Latvia. In 2015, he founded the Opera Prima Society of HK, a charitable organisation which focuses on organising musical events in support of humanitarian groups globally. His accolade includes the award of Associate of Royal School of Church Music, the first Chinese to have received such honour.
