Christien Wong is a passionate and gifted young choral conductor from Hong Kong, Inspired by conductors from his alma mater, St. Paul’s Co-educational College, Ms. Anne Chu and Mr. Apollo Wong, Christien discovered his love for choral music, especially conducting.
Throughout the years, Christien has been coached by world-renowned choral clinicians, including Urša Lah and Peter Dijkstra. He has also proudly clinched 3 conductor prizes, notably from the 42nd International Choir Competition “Prof. Georgi Dimitrov”, the 2024 World Youth & Children’s Choir Festival cum 1st Greater Bay Area Choir Festival – Hong Kong (WYCCF), and the Taipei International Choral Competition 2023 (TICC). Christien’s remarkable achievements extend to his invitation to participate in the 4th International Competition for Choral Conductor Romano Gandolfi in 2025.
As a Co-Founder of The Mad Singers (TMS), Christien has also led the choir to remarkable success on the international stage. Notably, TMS was honoured with the 1st Prize in Chamber Choir Category in The 42nd International Choir Competition “Prof. Georgi Dimitrov”, Choir of the World Award at WYCCF 2024 and emerged as the Grand Prix Champion at TICC 2023.
