With the generous title sponsorship from the Calvin Chan Foundation, HKICF2025 is introducing the Choral Carnival Day for the first time, which offers a rare opportunity for Hong Kong school choirs to engage directly with the community through public performances. The event aims not only to showcase excellent school choir performances and boost the confidence of choir members but also to promote arts appreciation and education to the general public.

With 30 primary and secondary schools and over 1,500 student choristers participating, the event promises to be a fun-filled 2 days of captivating musical performances to be enjoyed by the performers and audience alike. Moreover, the Choral Carnival Day will allow school choirs in Hong Kong to explore a broader repertoire beyond the confines of traditional competition pieces.

As an integral outreach programme of the HKICF, the Choral Carnival Day will play an instrumental role in introducing the art of choral music to a wider audience. By providing school choirs with the opportunity to perform in an outdoor public setting, the event enriches the cultural landscape of the city and aligns with the government’s vision of positioning Hong Kong as a vibrant cultural hub.
